We would like to share with you all the benefits of yoga through the traditional techniques transmitted by our teachers.
This is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009). This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.
Our restorative yoga class includes 30 minutes of warming and a gentle sequences of poses to create space in the body and relax the mind, the rest of the class (45 minutes) we offer a different poses supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest.
Held for 5 minutes or more, restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends.
This program has been created for children to become their own inner peace providers, it helps to increase concentration times, a higher self-esteem and motivates them to recognize and self-regulate their emotions throug breathing techniques.
On a physical level yoga postures strengthen and relax muscles among many other benefits. If your child already practices a sport, yoga postures will maximize their physical performance as a complementary practice.
During the classes of approximately 45 – 60 minutes, the children will go through the structure of the YogiMinds for Kids® program with fun activities supported by didactic material that allows them to absorb and reaffirm the universal values for harmonious coexistence.
- Avoid a heavy meal 2 hours prior your class.
- We recommend to not drinking water during practice to conserve the internal heat but if it is necessary, try small drinks with room temperature water.
- Please arrive 5 minutes prior your class to let yourself be settled and make the proper warming exercises.
- Keep your mind open to new experiences, its completely normal that in your first class you feel kind of lost with new words and instructions, relax and enjoy your class, you’ll be amazed of all that you can do!
- Listen to your teacher, they are fully prepared to guide you through the sequences, demonstrating or using verbal cuing accordingly to your needs.
- If you need to leaver early, don’t forget to take you rest in Savasana. This technique is an essential part in all yoga classes and it only takes a few minutes.
- Please turn off your phone to avoid distractions during class.
- We kindly ask to remove your shoes immediately upon entering the room to keep the space clean since we move around the studio and practice in bare feet.
Yoga is a discipline where the goal is not the perfect asana (pose), It’s about all that we learn during the journey to the asana, its the manifestation of your body trying its best effort with love and compassion for yourself. Yoga must be practiced with out pain and discomfort, and when you listen to your body and you keep an easy breathing, your mind became focused and relaxed obtaining all the benefits of the practice, no matter if you have any previous experience, or if you don’t consider yourself strong or flexible enough.
Our workshops brings the opportunitiy to deepen your experience and understanding of Yoga Concepts and Techniques.
Stay tune for the up coming events.
